Transformations

Eliot becomes a full wolf during the three nights of the full moon every 28 days. That is one thing that he has absolutely no control over. It is the magic in the blood that the full moon calls to, and regardless of how strong a will he has, he will transform into the form of a full grown wolf.

However, that is not the only time he can physically transform if he chose to. Aside from those three where he has absolutely no choice, he can technically transform at will into his wolf form whenever he desires.

No matter when and where though, transformation is a painful affair. As experience accumulates, the transformation can be made faster but never easier. Eliot can feel the physical changes that overtake him whenever his body is contorted from that of a man into a four legged beast's, from the rearranging of joints to the reshaping of bones. Maybe because of how hard he fights the transformations each time, maybe it is the same for all werewolves of his kind, but most of the time the experience is such an endeavor that it will leave him weakened and shaking for minutes after it.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As a werewolf, Eliot's abilities surpass those of a normal human's. The muscular system is changed even while in human form and his strength is increased twicefold, perhaps even up to five or ten times more than before. On the same scale, his speed is enhanced to animal proportions, making him seem supernatural with his reflexes sometimes. The most markedly changed of his senses are his hearing and smell as they are now that of a keen predator's, but eyesight, taste, and touch remain no different than what he was capable of before he was changed.

On the other hand, as his senses have shifted, so has his dependence on them even in human form. He relies on his nose more than his eyes now, and strong smells can make him uncomfortable as it masks other things around him. Like in the case of Wolfsbane, due to his enhanced sense of smell, it is the strong aroma of the flower that will make him physically sick if he gets near. It wil l not, however, harm him or physically keep him away like legends suggest. on the opposite end, he will feel uncomfortable with moving things that have no smells as it will feel unnatural to him the same as an invisible creature might to a normal man.

The other major changing factor is the fact he can no longer tolerate the touch of silver. Silver in any amount weakens him, and any silver within him will act like a slow acting poison that can make him severely ill, or even kill him, until all traces are purged from his system. A quick touch of that pure metal may merely sap his strength, whereas prolonged touching exposure to anything more than 25% silver alloy can raise painful blisters to the exposed areas. If any gets within wounds, it must be broken down completely, usually by acid or magic, before it can be purged enough for him to heal.

Killing werewolves in general is hard, and an able one like Eliot is even harder. Even as a human he was a fast healer, but after his change, his ability to heal has been increased tenfold. Silver is his major weakness and while he cannot grow or reattach dismemebered parts, short of beheading him, he will be a tough wolf to kill.

Mentality

Like with hormones, the wolf grows stronger as it gets nearer to the full moon. Eliot will become afflicted with the animal's way of thoughts, unconsciously changing his behavior, and growing worse in temperment. These changes will be most pronounced the last few days before his imminent change witht he full moon and least pronounced during the time of the new moon.

Even normally, the animal mindset is something he struggles against as he believes giving in to the beast is a loss of his humanity. He does not live at peace with the wolf within him, and as a result he cannot harmonize with himself completely. The war with himself causes a rift in his soul that makes it challenging for him to ever be at ease.

Still, despite the war, a lot of his way of thinking has taken on wolf-like characteristics, like concepts of pack and positions, posturing even. He is naturally a beta wolf but due to his independent human lifestyle, he fights the call of joining a pack and forces his animal into a lone wolf status like himself. As a result of being packless and alone, he has trouble resisting his subconscious desire to submit to those who his wolf considers alpha material.

Curse

Eliot was turned into a werewolf from a bite, but the magic of it was not transferred simply because he was bitten or clawed. The mechanisms that placed the curse upon him was triggered by the death of the original werewolf at his hands, like a transfer of energies as his creator died with his wolf jaws locked around him. Turning someone into a werewolf seems to be a complicated matter and he hasn't made another werewolf yet, that he know of.
